FEATURE: The 8th solo album by Edgar Jones - 'Document'

Edgar Jones has been through the ringer but after family loss and ill health sidelined him, the former Stairs frontman regained his mojo on tour with Robert Cray then once home, went into Liam Gardener’s Bike Shed Studios and recording live to tape recreated the experience.

The result: *Document; Jones eighth album and follow up to the 2023 opulent 'Reflections Of A Soul Dimension. While that record was a big production cloaking everything in strings and brass; here he’s taken his greatest hits - more than you’ve ever had; I would do anything et al and stripping them down to their bare bones crafted a wailing blues album.

The exceptions: Renditions of Windmills Of Your Mind, the Noel Harrison song from the Thomas Crown Affair and Al Wilson’s marmite northern soul spin The Snake. The former conjuring images of haunted ballrooms, the latter voodoo rituals in New Orleans.
